Greg White is a Registered Professional Archaeologist and qualified Principal Investigator in archaeology, anthropology, and history. Dr. White is Sub Terra’s Cultural Resource lead. He has 40+ years’ experience in the design, management, and execution of large-scale field studies, research programs, and report and publication production in the western U.S., with a focus on Northern California. He has 25+ years’ experience as a field and classroom instructor in the CSU, community colleges, and in-service training systems.

Russell S. Shapiro, Ph.D. Federally-Qualified Paleontologist.
Russell Shapiro handles all aspects of paleontological resources, including report preparation, field surveys, fossil recovery and preparation and worker training. In addition to being a Principal of STC, Shapiro is currently a Professor of Paleontology at CSU Chico. In his academic career spanning 20 years, he has been engaged as a consultant for various museums (Denver, Minneapolis, Santa Barbara, Las Vegas), state agencies (Minnesota, Utah, Nevada), and universities (including the University of Southern California, Stanford University, and UC Berkeley). As a private consultant, he has worked for the petroleum (Exxon-Mobil, Anadarko Exploration) and minerals (Cliffs Mining, private iron and gold operations) industries as well as paleontological monitoring and mitigation (SWCA Environmental Services, ESA, Far Western Anthropological). Recent projects include reviews of PRMMPs for the city of San Francisco, monitoring reports for PG&E and private construction projects in southern and central California, and final reports related to paleontological resource protection associated with mining in Nevada for the BLM and US Forest Service.
